No number locks

Unlike most escape rooms in Amsterdam, Questomatica uses no number locks or combination padlocks — every single puzzle is sensor-based and responds to physical interaction. No digit codes, no padlocks, no keys.

Everyone gets their moment

Someone figures out the mechanism. Someone spots what everyone else missed. Someone keeps the energy up when the clock is ticking. The rooms are designed so every person in the group has their moment.

Atmospheric without being frightening

No jump scares. No horror. Immersive and tense — in a way that works for families, first-timers, and experienced escape room players alike.

An experience for everyone

Friends & tourists in Amsterdam

You have done the museums. You have walked the canals. This is the one you will still be talking about on the train home. City centre location, 90 minutes total experience, available in your language.

Family outing or bringing a child?

Both rooms work from age 8 — and children often notice things the adults completely miss. Arcade Invasion is our most family-friendly room. Wake Up! has a few atmospheric, low-light moments — if in doubt, we recommend Arcade Invasion. Call us if you'd like advice for your specific group.

For companies and corporate teams

Book both rooms at the same time — two teams, one location, competing side by side. From 4 to 24 people. We can block slots and send an invoice. A team building activity where time flies and people feel at ease.

F.A.Q.

Yes — both rooms work from age 8 upwards with at least one adult in the group. Children often notice things the adults completely miss. Arcade Invasion is the most family-friendly option. Wake Up! has a few atmospheric, low-light moments — if anyone is sensitive to that, choose Arcade Invasion.

If your child is younger than 8, call us on +31 62 8383 155 — every child is different and we are happy to advise.

Questomatica uses sensors and physical mechanics instead of number locks or combination padlocks. No digit codes, no keys, no padlocks. Every puzzle is interactive — you respond to the room and the room responds to you.

The challenges are deliberately varied so that different people with different skills all get their moment. Someone figures out the mechanism. Someone notices the detail everyone else walked past. The rooms are designed for the whole group, not just puzzle enthusiasts.

Arcade Invasion is available in 9 languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Filipino, and Hungarian. Wake Up! is available in 14 languages, adding Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Greek, and Catalan. Just let your host know on your arrival which language you prefer for hints. All game masters speak English; some speak Dutch.

Each room takes 2 to 6 players. One child under 12 plays free, keeping the total group size at 6 maximum.

For groups of 7 to 12, both rooms can be booked at the same time — two teams play simultaneously and meet afterwards to compare results. The whole group arrives together. More about group booking →

Pricing is per person and depends on your group size — the larger the group, the lower the price per person. Wake Up! ranges from €30 per person (a group of 6) to €60 per person (two players); Arcade Invasion ranges from €31 to €65 per person. One child under 12 can join the team for free. You will see the exact price for your group size when you book.

The game itself is 60 minutes. The full visit takes approximately 90 minutes including briefing before, and the debrief and team photo at the end. Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your start time.

Changes or cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before your game start time. Cancellations within 72 hours are not possible and no refund is given. We ask for payment in advance, which means almost no no-shows — the experience is genuinely reserved for your group.

Foeliestraat 16, 1011 TM Amsterdam — 10 to 15 minutes walk from Amsterdam Centraal station, next to NEMO Science Museum. The closest metro stop is Waterlooplein. Open daily from 10:00 to 22:30, reservation required.

The story behind Questomatica

Once upon a time a small team of quirky artists-scientists-gamers came together to create a real-life escape room experience in Amsterdam. They asked one question: what happens if you build an escape room with absolutely no locks at all? The answer became Questomatica — two fully automated, sensor-driven rooms in the city centre that have earned a 4.9-star rating across more than 1,100 reviews and ten consecutive years of TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice awards.
